So Bored...

I’m at a friends apt, watching his wonderful cat. His cat requires daily medicine, and he doesn’t have the heart to put it down, so the cat gets insulin.

Anyway. Im incredibly bored. He’s a cord cutter, so he has no cable. There’s internet, but I’ve just been bored this weekend. I was going to build my new pc(see left about drinking and ordering) to see the pc.

The motherboard has a few bent CPU socket fans, and ASRock claims every motherboard leaves the factory in a useable condition. Plus with a bent pin, it’s warranty is no longer valid. $180 bucks for the board and it’s junk. I think I’m going to buy a new one and then next weekend install a few 45 caliber holes in it and send it to them.

The cat isn’t so bad. Just pet him, he rolls onto his back and stick him with the needle. He’ll get over it. I’ve been sleeping on the couch. Other than that. I’m not really feeling the Rainbow 6 Siege game that came with the headphones I ordered(the 70 amazon bundle that’s been on the main site)

Yea, so today. I’m seeing Deadpool. I’ve seen it once, but I think it’s worth it to see it again. Since I watched a decent cam version at first. So I’m going to see the real movie and support it.

Yea, So I’m bored and my favorite Youtube channels aren’t putting out any new videos.

I think tonight I’ll drink by myself to just make the night go by.

Try fixing the pins with a magnifying glass and an exacto knife.

Otherwise, just keep complaining to them until you get what you want.

Had to buy a magnifying glass for this reason, and tried. A signal pin broke.

If it was a ground pin, it would have been fixable. It’s now just junk. A friend of mine in NY is going to ask a coworker of his if he can try to fix it.

His coworker deals with electronic repair, and is familiar with fixing a broken socket pin.

If he thinks he can’t fix it, then I’m buying a new board from a different company. Although, the options for Skylake ITX with M2 are limited.

Nope. Currently 130pm. Going to see a movie at 4 with the gf. Then tomorrow a doc appt I almost forgot about, and maybe drink some after the appt. Nothing like daytime alcohol indulgence.

Yea, already washed my car. My 4 company trucks, my grandma/pa’s cars.

My car needed a bath badly. I’ve been neglecting it because I was busy. Now I’m bored and just looking for something to do lol.

Welcome to Skylake ITX life. There’s probably I’d estimate 10-12 boards with M2. That’s for gaming or an enthusiast board. Ive seen the ones for locked skylake chips and they’re scary.

For now I’m just sticking with rinses because with the salt on the roads this winter it gets dirty pretty quickly, but soon this winter will be over and I’ll be soaping it up!

Try the asus one if the asrock one doesn’t work out. My Z97 Asus ITX board is great. No problems at all.

I look at the asus maximus impact 8 itx rog.

I think i might pick it. Although the no m2 is going to let a 950 pro 256gb m2 sss sit. The gigabyte boards look promising. The g1 is a solid board.Gotta look at some reviews to decide.

I gave in and ordered the gigabyte g1 and the asus impact rog.

My buddy that got me into computers is building a sick 2699 v3 eatx rig. Hes just going to use his 970 until the nvidia pascal cards come out.

2011v3 is something i thought about too. This 6700k itx build will be overkill for me, he’ll be using those xeons to there potential.

I was trying to talk him into a phase cooled machine but noise is important to him.

His plans are folding and mining. Running the different game servers for games we play. He got some service contract with his business and its paying for this.

He needs a computer that is strong enough to handle the workload.

You ordered two boards?

Also your friends machine sounds crazy. Is it dual socket? Also phase change cooling is way overkill unless you’re doing serious overclocking, which you can’t really do with xeons.

Yea I ordered 2. Going to send back the one Im not using. My biggest thing is the board has to fit under the h100 I already have. The ROG might not, but the G1 might, or vice versa. Gotta test fit my parts and see. My old mobo worked, one of the 2 new ones hopefully does.

Yea, his board is dual socket. He’s putting 20k into this machine. His last build was a 5960x that was pretty hardcore. He’s REALLY into computers and the average person couldn’t ever use the power of a pc like he does.

At night he bitcoin mines with the 5960x and he claims it’s enough to pay for his power bill and rent. So thats like 800 bucks a month that 5960x makes.
